Environmental Management and Climate Action
Taking care of the environment means taking care of the health of present and future generations. Our management focuses on the efficient use of resources and reducing emissions.
Conscious Use of Water
Water is vital for hospital safety, infection control and patient comfort. To optimize this resource, we maintain a rainwater collection system that supplies our bathrooms, irrigation areas and cooling towers, drastically reducing drinking water consumption.
Emissions Inventory (GHG)
Dona Helena is the first healthcare institution in Santa Catarina to join the FGV Public Emissions Registry. We achieved the Silver Seal in the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program for the transparent monitoring of our greenhouse gas emissions and our carbon offsetting initiatives.
Climate Change Prevention
Climate change directly impacts the health of the population. We are aware of these challenges and have a plan of preventive measures to ensure that our essential services are not interrupted by extreme events, prioritizing partnerships with local suppliers and the safety of our operations.
Waste Treatment and Reverse Logistics
We rigorously manage hospital waste, ensuring compliance with safety standards to protect the community and nature. Additionally, we participate in reverse logistics campaigns with suppliers, where disposable materials are returned for reuse. In return, the hospital receives bicycles that are raffled off among employees, encouraging clean mobility and quality of life.
